The Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank all the groups and individuals that attended the 24th annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 3rd.

The parade kicked off from Commons Shopping Plaza. This year’s parade theme was “A Whoville Christmas,” and we saw lots of great parade floats and decorations! We would like to thank the following groups for participating in the parade: Broadway Bound, Girl Scouts Troop 58130, Launch Trampoline Park, Victoria L. and her Decorated Horse, Cub Scouts Pack 401, Cub Scouts Pack 424, Cub Scouts Pack 525, Merrimack Fire Department, Merrimack Girl Scouts, Merrimack High School Band, Merrimack Police Department- DARE Car, Merrimack Police Department Honor Guard, Merrimack Youth Association Softball, Miss Gate City Scholarship Program, Miss Merrimack and Miss Greater Nashua & Miss Greater Nashua Outstanding Teen.

Directly after the parade, the Tree Lighting Ceremony was at Abbie Griffin Park. We would like to thank the following groups for participating in the Tree Lighting Ceremony: DJ Darren Roy- Provided Holiday Music, Miss Merrimack- Singing “Here Comes Santa Claus,” Broadway Bound- Dance Performance, Merrimack High School Band- Musical Performance, Girl Scouts Troop 10762- Provided Hot Chocolate, Movement Christian Church- Provided Cookies, Franklin Savings Bank- Provided Candy Canes, Macaroni Kids- Organized the Candy Cane Hunt, Merrimack Cares & Merrimack Interact Club Volunteers and Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

The event had a great turnout with about 600 people attending. Thank you again to all the families and individuals that joined us for this event. We want to wish you all a Happy Holiday Season from the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department.
