Single-payer the way to go

Our Gov. Sununu has asked Congress to support the Lower Premiums Through Reinsurance Act, crafted by Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Florida). Sununu is standing by affordable health care for his constituents rather than stand with capricious President Trump, who recently ended CSRs (cost-sharing reduction payments). Trump has wanted the ACA to fail, and intends that.

In the long run, however, the way to go is getting profit-making middle-men out of the health care picture. Of course, they love having a captured clientele with the ACA. Of course, they want to step up profits – they are corporate businesses. They are Republican in nature, for the big guy (themselves) not for the little guy (the rest of us). How odd it was that Barack Obama gave them such a happy situation, but it was the health care expansion possible at the time.

Our senators and congressman have health care with paperwork done by the government, not profit-taking middle men. We’d be better off with that for ourselves, single-payer – all spent dollars actually delivering health care, not getting diverted to profits. Single-payer will be portable, not concerned with employment changes or people crossing borders to live in other states.
