Standing for anthem a matter of respect
An open letter to the NFL, its players, owners, broadcasters and sponsors.
Standing, for our national anthem is not a matter of rights, it is a matter of respect.
It’s respect for those standing beside you, respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice, respect for the women and men in our armed forces, who sacrifice every day, so you can play.
I pledge that unless and until the NFL (collective), can show respect, I will not watch, listen or read anything associated with the NFL.
I will try not to patronize sponsors, and I will try to convince everyone I meet to do likewise. Just so you remember, here is my definition of a veteran.
“A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The United States of America,’ for an amount up to and including their life.”
