An open letter to Secretary Gardner

Voting is a fundamental right of U.S. citizenship. In New Hampshire, we have a unique same-day voter registration system. That system now needs to be protected so that all eligible voters are allowed to vote without obstacles or intimidation.

No evidence of voter fraud in New Hampshire has been found, and yet Donald Trump has set up the Pence-Kobach Commission on Voter Integrity, which met at St. Anselm’s College in Manchester last week. This commission is an excuse to justify his baseless claim of busloads of people coming from Massachusetts to vote illegally and of millions of people voting illegally in our country.

I ask you, Secretary William Gardner, to support New Hampshire constituents by resigning from this sham commission immediately. Please work instead with citizens, supervisors of the checklist and town moderators to make our voting system better.
