Veronica’s story can teach us all to live

By Staff | Jun 12, 2016

The telling tale of Veronica described by Michelle Malkin in her article, "Measuring life by the spoonful and taking what it gives you" (June 9) reminds me of a quote by famous writer Khalil Gibran that "life is the only flower that blooms without the aid of seasons." And the season may be spring or autumn.

It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness, as a Chinese proverb goes. Veronica encountered darkness in her life with courage and fortitude. The lesson the tale imparts to all of us: In times of darkness, one must simply stop searching for the light and become the glow for others to follow.
