Slow down for horses in road

By Staff | Apr 9, 2015

With spring finally here, it is most likely that if you are traveling on local back roads you may come upon a person on horseback. You should be aware that the law in New Hampshire and Massachusetts requires drivers to slow down, and even stop if the rider so indicates.

Keep in mind that a horse is an animal that can weigh more than a thousand pounds and could do damage to you, your car, the rider and himself if frightened. While most riders are able to control their mounts, they are animals and could be easily spooked. Please slow down.
