Obama fails America on world stage

By Staff | Sep 9, 2013

Regardless of your opinion of America’s involvement in the Syrian revolution, President Barack Obama is undeserving of the title “leader of the free world.”

He has routinely undermined the quality of America’s military deterrent on the international stage by indecisively threatening Bashar al-Assad, Syria’s “president.” Obama declared that should Assad use chemical weapons against the revolutionary forces in Syria, his actions would be akin to crossing a “red line.” More evidence has made apparent the fact that Assad has crossed this red line several times; evidence which we must assume President Obama had access to long before the public did.

President Obama’s neglectful response in condemning and pursuing military action against the Assad regime is exemplified by his disastrous failure in assembling a global coalition against Assad. To contrast this fact with President George W. Bush’s coalition of dozens of countries to occupy Iraq on the mere assumption of weapons of mass destruction further proves President Obama’s incompetent leadership. Bush objectively had widespread international support for the war in Iraq, while Obama effectively has nobody to support his cause, even with a cascade of evidence of weapons of mass destruction and plans for a much less intrusive military operation. Our president is failing the American people by destroying our diplomatic influence internationally, as well as our military credibility. With the world watching this fiasco of a foreign policy, the threats and promises American presidents make in the future will leave us wondering if our president is still truly the “leader of the free world.”
