Kudos

We do not know the name of the New Hampshire state trooper who, after last week’s snow storm, issued 17 tickets to drivers who had not bothered to clear the snow off of their cars, thus finding themselves in violation of Jessica’s Law, named for a young woman killed when flying ice hit a vehicle that then hit hers, killing her.

Someone certainly will whine:

“Don’t the state police have better things to do than harass drivers?”

Yes. And no.

They have many better things to do, but they still have to protect the rest of us from people too callous to care that their refusal to do a sensible thing like clear snow off of their cars can kill someone.

So, good for this trooper. And next snow storm, nail 17 more, because they’ll be out there, still not caring.
