Williamson made good points

By Staff | Jan 12, 2019

Thursday night, potential presidential hopeful Marianne Williamson continued her swing through New Hampshire with a speech at Rivier University.

Williamson said she is hoping to shed light on a number of pressing topics facing the country, including issues including the many issues facing America’s youth, shedding light on the economy serving as a veiled aristocracy, interrupting the systematic racism that plagues the nation, and working toward re-framing national security.

While these seem to be the typical Democratic talking points heading into the 2020 election, Williamson did make some good points.

“Our national challenges are deep, but our political conversation is shallow.” she said “My campaign (is) for people who want to dig deeper into the questions we face as a nation, and deeper into finding the answers.”

On the economy, Williamson said that it serves as a veiled aristocracy that has taken the country’s major resources and put them in the hands of a very few individuals who claim they are doing only what is good for economic growth, but are instead leaving a great number of the population struggle.

While her speech was short on ideas to fix the issues facing America, her assessment was on point.

After Williamson’s talk Thursday, one thing is for sure – politics, especially presidential politics – is in season in New Hampshire.
