One of the more widespread myths about the U.S. national budget is how much is spent on foreign aid. Most people do and like to believe that our country allots a good portion of the national budget for foreign aid. Some people even lamenting that the U.S. spends too much on it. The average American believes that about 20 percent of our national budget is spent on foreign aid.
