Joseph J. Field

Joseph J. Field, age 72, passed away on April 30, 2012, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born on August 31, 1939, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, son of the late Joseph J Field, Sr and the late Rena (Bessette) Field. Joe grew up in Rhode Island, but spent most of his life residing in Hudson NH, where he built his home and raised his family. He graduated in 1957 from Pawtucket West High School, and attended the University of Rhode Island, where he studied Electrical Engineering. He served in the US Airforce Reserves.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cynthia (Roy) Field; his 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Charles Kert of Nashua, NH, Rebecca and Philip Garside of Hudson, NH, and Elizabeth and Kevin Partridge of Hudson, NH. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Jordan, Emily, Sarah, Morley Kert, Amy, Rachael, and Adam Garside, Kess and Brooke Partridge, his sister Michele of New York, NY, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A brilliant and talented Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, Joe worked for several technology firms before becoming self-employed. He owned and operated Field Electronics, as an engineer and consultant. Joe was an active member of the Hudson Fish and Game, where he enjoyed friends and community service. Joe will be remembered by those who knew him as a big soft-spoken man, with a love of the outdoors, gardening and his family. Joseph was a talented photographer, who captured his love of nature and family in his photographs.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to St Joseph Home and Hospice Care, 24 North River Road, Milford, NH.
