CHELMSFORD – Dorothy Cochran, 86, a resident of Chelmsford for 47 years, passed away on April 28, 2012 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Cochran who died in 1980.
She was born in Boston on January 25, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Constantine and Persephoni (Tsamugeles) Coconis.
Prior to her retirement, Dorothy was employed for over 15 years as an inspector for Raytheon. She enjoyed volunteering at the Chelmsford Senior Center and being a companion to the elderly. Dorothy loved traveling, playing Bingo, and taking trips to Foxwoods, Las Vegas, and Atlantic City.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Diane Brown and husband Olin of Lynnfield, Patty Hall and husband Jim of N. Chelmsford, and Donald Cochran and wife Julie of Nashua, 5 grandchildren; Donald DeMarco, Joe Cochran, Derek Cochran, Heather Hall, and Chelsea Cochran, brother James Coconis and wife Elaine of Chelmsford, her niece Betty Seminatore, nephew, Peter DaSilva and his wife Janet and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Thomas Coconis and Catherine Coconis.
Dorothy’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Lowell General Hospital for the genuine kindness and care they extended to Dorothy and for all that they did for her entire family over the last 2 years.
Visitation on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Her Funeral Service will be on Wednesday at 12 o’clock at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, Fr.
