Maureen P. Flanagan
Maureen P. Flanagan, 83, died April 12, 2012 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH. Maureen was born in Dublin Ireland, August 31, 1928. She was the daughter of John Michael and Mary (Byrnes) Flanagan. Maureen was educated in Dublin. In 1958 she moved to the United States to create a better life for herself.
Maureen was a devout Catholic and a member of the Sacred Heart Parish of Greenville, NH. She was a member of the American Legion Post 13 of Greenville. She enjoyed knitting and was part of a group called, “Knitting for a Cause,” and made many hats and baby clothes for un-wed mothers throughout New Hampshire. Maureen loved her Irish heritage and enjoyed her friends and her independence. She was very close to her nieces and nephews and treated them as though they were her own children.
Maureen is survived by her nephew Kevin Flanagan of New Ipswich. 2 nieces; Patricia Hamlin of Milford and Maureen K. Flanagan of Greenville. She has many nieces and nephews in France and Ireland and also has great nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by John Jay Flanagan, John Michael Flanagan, Mae Colnan and Elizabeth Rigney
Friends are warmly invited to calling hours from 5 - 7 PM on Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple Street, Wilton, NH. A Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Wilfred Deschamps at the Sacred Heart Church in Greenville, NH on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 12 noon. A grave side service will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, in New Ipswich, NH following the Mass.
