Florence Amanda Anderson

Florence Amanda Anderson, 97, a long-time Nashua resident, died early Easter morning, April 8, 2012 at the Courville at Nashua, following a brief illness.

She was the widow of F. Wilber Anderson, who died in August 1974.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Manchester, NH on March 27, 1915, a daughter of the late Leandre and Eva (Pellerin) Lecuyer. Educated in Manchester schools, Florence was a graduate of West High School, Class of 1933.

Florence was an avid animal and nature lover and gardener even into her later years. Her tremendous knowledge and passion for cooking tremendously inspired her children and grandchildren. Most of all, Florence was the hub of all gatherings and cherished every moment of spending time with her family who meant the world to her. All who knew her will miss this “amazing” woman dearly.

She was a longtime member of The Nashua Garden Club and was a communicant of St. Christopher Church.

In addition to her husband, Florence was predeceased by a son, Leonard Anderson in 2008; a granddaughter, Alexis Taylor Wisner in 1994; three sisters, Yvonne Carter, Rose Burns and Evelyn Kablick; and three brothers, George, Edward and Frankie Lecuyer.

The entire Anderson family would like to thank Dr. Zhao and the staff of St Joseph Hospital and the Courville at Nashua for their outpouring of support and care during Florence’s last days.

Members of her family include two sons, Glenn and his wife Connie Anderson and Gary and his wife Betty Anderson all of Nashua; three daughters, Peggy and her husband Maurice Fournier of Nashua, Kathie and her husband James Standle of Bennington and Cindy Anderson of Manchester; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Anderson of Belgrade, ME; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
