Conrad W. Berube

Conrad W. “Butch” Berube, 77, of Saint Eugene Way in Hudson, died early Tuesday morning, October 18, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.

Born in Nashua on October 8, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph and Laura (Plourde) Berube. Butch was educated in local schools, attending the former St. Francis Xavier Parochial School and Nashua High School.

Butch and his first wife, Pearl R. Desautels were married on June 4, 1955 and they resided in Nashua before moving to their home on Webster Street in Hudson in 1961.

Mr. Berube had been employed with Bronze Craft, the former Producers Dairy and was manager of the former Alexander’s super market. He later was the housekeeping supervisor at Rivier College in Nashua and was a custodian for the Hudson School System, prior to his retirement.

He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Litchfield and a former communicant of St. John The Evangelist Church in Hudson. Butch held membership in the Hudson Senior Citizens.

Butch was predeceased by his first wife, Pearl, who died October 4, 2000; two brothers, Robert and Lionel Berube; and two sisters, Anita Levesque and Beatrice Vaillancourt.

Members of his family include his wife, Doris M. (Lavoie) Berube, whom he married on December 22, 2001; two sons and their wives, Paul H. and Lynn Berube of Barnstead and Mark D. and Lisa Berube of Exeter; a daughter and her husband, Doreen L.R. and Joseph E. Hafeman of North Carolina; a granddaughter, Laura Rose Hafeman of Florida; two step-grandchildren, Stacy and Justin; a sister-in-law, Jennie Berube of Nashua; and a special friend, Linda Green of Litchfield.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1 Sterling Road in Litchfield, Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. Everyone is invited to gather at the church. Interment will take place at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Nashua. Donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi School, 1 Sterling Road, Litchfield, NH 03052.
