Helen J. Uurtamo

Helen J. Uurtamo, 66 passed away on April 29, 2019. She resided in Amherst, NH with her husband, Stephen Uurtamo with whom she has been married to since August 25, 2007. As a child, Helen lived in Washington Heights, Manhattan, New York where she attended Aquinas High School. She moved to Montpellier, Vermont, her senior year to live with her sister and graduate from High School. She later married and raised her family Northfield Falls, Vermont. She was employed for many years by Ethan Allan until their closure, transferring to Nashua for a job.

She studied accounting and finance at Kaplan University where she graduated. Helen’s career opportunities included positions as a bookkeeper and accounting for JM Technologies, LLC, Operators Manager at Clarke Engineering Technologies, Inc. and Advanced Computer Resources Corp. She also owned Deer Hollow Accounting.

Helen shared her talents with her faith community including Chairperson of the New England Women of the ELCA, representing New Hampshire at several national, Triennial conferences, and Christ the King Lutheran Church council. She was most proud of her participation on the Greater Nashua Interfaith Hospitality Network board where she was a founding board member of Anne Marie House

She leaves behind her loving family including her husband Stephen Uurtamo, her children, Heather Codling, Paul Codling and Samantha Uurtamo. She was predeceased by her daughter Sandy Lee Codling who died in infancy.

Services will be held on September 21, 2019 a the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Nashua. Donations may be made in Helen’s name to Church in Society Ministry at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
