Lorette A. (Burque) Cormier

Lorette A. (Burque) Cormier, 93, died peacefully Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Hunt Community in Nashua, NH.

She was born in Nashua on July 30, 1925, daughter of the late Auguste and Josephine (LeClair) Burque, who were well known jewelers in Nashua for many years. Lorette was predeceased by her husband Robert E. Cormier and her eldest child, Elaine (Cormier) Coronis, who both died in October 2009, as well as her son-in-law, Thomas Coronis, sister, Elaine (Burque) Pinet and brother, Robert A. Burque. Lorette and Bob married in 1949 and lived their entire lives in Nashua.

Lorette graduated from St. Louis High School, Nashua in 1943. She worked at Cudahy’s Butcher Shop during World War II, Burque Jewelers, and served as a long-time Secretary for St. Louis de Gonzague Church in Nashua. Lorette was a long-time member of the Ladies of St. Anne’s Guild at St. Louis and served as a Den Leader of Cub Scout Pack 255 at St. Louis as well. She also did volunteer work at St. Joseph Hospital. Lorette possessed a great deal of faith in God and was always there to help someone in need. Lorette was very sociable, always enjoying a game of cards and gatherings with friends. She enjoyed cooking for any and all occasions, vacations at Hampton Beach, and was an avid Red Sox fan. Above all she loved spending time and making memorable gatherings with her family.

She is survived by her daughter Jeanne (Cormier) McCullough and husband Gary of Mont Vernon, NH; son Robert Cormier and wife Donna (Larose) of Hollis, NH; son Albert Cormier and wife Diane (McConnell) of Salem, NH and daughter Anne (Cormier) Stuer and husband Gary of Norway, ME. Lorette is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Stacy (Coronis) and Zeke Wheeler of Arlington, MA; Jamie (Coronis) and Justin Godin of Merrimack, NH; Ian McCullough of New Boston, NH; Craig McCullough of Washington, DC; Todd and Kerry (Haczyk) Cormier of Mt. Laurel, NJ; Brian and Kristina (Wilson) Cormier of W. Townsend, MA; Scott and Kate (Ryno) Cormier of Vienna, VA; Heather (Cormier) and Sourik Bhowmick of Lawrence, MA; and Nicholas Stuer of Asheville, NC; as well as 6 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Natalie, Mary and Genevieve Cormier; and many nieces nephews and cousins.

The family owes a debt of gratitude and wishes to thank the Hunt Community, 10 Allds Street, Nashua and its staff for their attentive care to their mother for many years. The Hunt provided peace of mind to the family, knowing that she was well cared for and her needs were always fully attended to with dignity and respect.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 West Hollis Street, Nashua, TUESDAY, JULY 30th at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery in Nashua. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
