Marion H. ‘Lexey’ Carter
Marion H. “Lexey” Carter of Nashua NH, Passed away peacefully on April 14, 2019, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, with her family by her side.
She was born in Houlton, ME, on July 21, 1926, the younger daughter of Russell W. and Lettie (Vail) Carter. She grew up in Maine and graduated from the University of Maine in 1949.
She moved to Boston in 1952, and worked for the Harvard School of Public Health. She loved to travel, so, in 1956, she became a travel agent at University Travel in Cambridge, MA. She and friends Al and Leo Hynes opened their own travel agency, Holiday Consultants in 1974. She guided tours all over the world for such organizations as the Maine Maritime Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts Ladies Committee. She retired in 1992.
She loved her family, friends, Red Sox, Patriots, and entertaining. She enjoyed socializing and spending time with her wonderful neighbors.
She is predeceased by her sister, Eleanor (Carter) Henn. Her family includes her niece Martha Grossimon of Nashua, NH, grand-niece Marie Grossimon, also of Nashua, grand-nephew Eric Grossimon, of San Diego, CA; her nephew Russell Henn, of St. Cloud, FL, his wife Rosalie, grand-nephew William, and grand-niece Roselle, also of St. Cloud, FL; cousin Diana Jackins, of Houlton, ME.
