John G. ‘Jack’ Marshall

John G. “Jack” Marshall, 93, a resident and native of Nashua, formerly of Litchfield, passed away peacefully at his home, on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, surrounded by members of his family.

Jack was born on December 16, 1925 in Nashua, NH, a son of the late Roy F. and Kittie (Grover) Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by all five of his brothers, Lewis, Theodore, William, James and George, and daughter-in-law Sheila.

Jack will be remembered as a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was very proud of his family and it meant everything to him.

Jack leaves his loving children, Kenneth and his wife Mariangela of Westford, MA, Robert of Palm Bay, FL and Richard of Henderson, NC, his long-time significant other, Fern Couture, sisters, Carol Marshall and Eleanor Beals, all of Nashua, sister-in-law, Thelma Marshall, former wife, Ethel Whitney, both of DeBary, FL, grandchildren, Allison, of Nashua and Brian, of Manchester, former daughter-in-law, Patricia, of Nashua and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jack was a long-time member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Nashua. He was a member of the church’s Venerable Interactive Pilgrims (VIP). At one time, Jack was also a member of the Young Business Men’s Club (YBMC). He enjoyed playing cards with friends and watching his favorite sports teams, the Red Sox and Patriots.

Jack was a proud WWII Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in China. He worked at his father’s wholesale grocer’s business, as a route salesman for Producer’s Dairy, as a sales representative for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and as a security guard for the FAA and Lockheed Sanders.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Nashua Crossings, his home for the past 3 ½ years. He enjoyed living there and was loved by all the staff. The family also wishes to thank Compassionate Care Hospice who made Jack’s last days as comfortable as possible.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s name to the charity of one’s choice.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Friday December 28th 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pilgrim Congregational Church UCC, 4 Watson Street Nashua New Hampshire 03064. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may meet directly at the church. Committal prayers and military rites will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway Boscawen New Hampshire 03303.
