Douglas Edward Puls

Douglas Edward Puls, 75, of Creve Coeur, MO passed away on December 8, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Husband of 53 years to Mary Lou (Meyer) Puls; father of Stephen (Heidi) Puls and Christine (Eliot) Berman; grandfather of Dylan Acup, Jake and Matthew Harkins, Cory, Hannah and Jacob Berman; son of the late Kenneth and Eleanore (Carey) Puls; brother of the late Adreanne (Puls) Pieber; beloved father-in-law, uncle and cousin.

Doug was born on May 25, 1943, raised in St. Louis, and graduated from Southwest High School in 1961. He graduated from Washington University in June 1965 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and received an MBA from St. Louis University in 1968.

Doug was employed as an Industrial Engineer at Laclede Steel Company, Alton, IL through January 1967. He began his career with Anheuser-Busch, Inc., St. Louis, in February 1967 as an Industrial Engineer. Doug was promoted to Resident Industrial Engineer in December 1969, transferred to A-B in Merrimack, NH and made his home in Nashua. He ultimately retired as the Standard Operating Procedures Coordinator in May 2002, after 35 years with the company. Doug and Mary Lou moved back to St. Louis in December 2008.

Doug’s greatest love was spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing board games and having pool parties in the back yard with his children and his grandchildren. Winter fun consisted of annual family ski trips throughout New England. Doug was kind, hardworking and strongly dedicated to his family. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

Services: Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur on Tuesday, December 18 from 4-8pm. Mass will be held at Incarnate Word Catholic Church, 13416 Olive Blvd, Chesterfield on Wednesday, December 19 at 10am. Burial following at Resurrection Cemetery, Affton.
