Kevin Thomas Mulligan, age 58, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua. He was born on November 13, 1959 in Lowell, MA, the son of the late James and Betty (McDowell) Mulligan. He was a resident of Nashua, NH and Ennistymon, Ireland.

Kevin graduated from Bishop Guertin High School in 1978. At the age of 18, he was elected to the NH State Legislature, becoming (at the time) the youngest elected official in the world. During the three terms he served in the legislature, he sponsored and co-sponsored legislation that has benefitted the lives of countless NH citizens. He was passionate about equality and fairness for working class people. He was active in national, state and local politics throughout his life.

He had a great love for Ireland and lived there for many years. In the late 80’s he worked to promote the MacBride Principles for fair employment in Northern Ireland. Kevin wrote legislation, eventually enacted in 18 states, to endorse the principals and encourage investment in American companies doing business in Northern Ireland. Kevin was awarded the NH Citizens Action award for human rights for his work.

He was a very talented artist. He spent the latter half of his life working in County Clare, Ireland, where he specialized in painting landscape scenes and murals. His works have been selected for exhibition both in the U.S and in Ireland. His artwork includes several commissioned memorials and his paintings are in private collections around the world.

Kevin is survived by many loving extended family members and dear friends.
