Albert Roland Lavoie

Albert Roland Lavoie, 76, passed away on September 30th with family by his side. He was born on June 27, 1942 in Nashua, a son of the late Wilfrid and Marie Rose (Lavoie) Lavoie.

Al was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was a communicant of the Parish of the resurrection where you could find him at the 4:00 PM mass on Saturday. He was an avid cribbage player and spent many Tuesday nights at the Lafayette Club as a member of the cribbage league. He enjoyed hunting and spending time in the outdoors. When walking got harder for him, he would drive places and sit in his truck with the windows down, read the paper and enjoy the breezes blowing through the open windows.

He will join his wife Aleta (Merrill) in everlasting life to whom he was married to for 47 years on this earth.

He is survived by two sisters, Constance Dufresne of Lowell, MA and Elaine C. Lavoie of Nashua four sisters-in-law, Ida Lavoie, Rosalie Lavoie, Elaine T. Lavoie, all of Nashua and Sally Mae Merrill of Manchester, along with many, many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers Normand Lavoie, Lionel Lavoie, Andre’ Lavoie, and Robert Lavoie, along with five sisters Simone Clark, Jeannie Gagnon, Lucille Lavoie, Doris Lavoie, and Rachel Lavoie.

Calling hours will be at the Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday October 4, 2018. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St., Nashua, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Albert’s name to the Diabetes Association or to a charity of choice.
