Loren J. Blair

Loren Joseph Blair died peacefully at the Concord Hospice House on August 4, 2018 after a long illness. Loren was born on September 13, 1934 in Jaffrey to his parents Malion and Germaine Blair. He graduated from Jaffrey High School and later enlisted in the US Navy. While in the Navy, he served as a machinist mate and traveled to Europe, South America, and the Far East. Upon completing his active duty commitment, he served in the Naval Reserves until he retired in 1978. Loren married Christine Wheeler on December 30, 1957. Together they raised three sons. Loren worked at Kollsman in Merrimack, NH as a machinist until he retired in 2007. Throughout his life, Loren enjoyed being outdoors and loved to hunt and fish.

Loren was predeceased by his wife Christine and his two brothers Malion and Frank. He is survived by his son Loren Jr. and daughter-in-law Doris of Abbeville, South Carolina; his son Stephen and daughter-in-law Monica of Bow, NH; his son Daniel and daughter-in-law Margaret of Springfield, VA; his sisters Marion Robinson of Jaffrey, NH and Marie Gravel of Troy, NH; his sister-in-law Gloria of Jaffrey, NH; sister-in-law Mary Ann of Winchester, MA; 4 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 on August 27, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Jaffrey. He will be interned at 9:00 on August 28, 2018, at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted by Concord Hospice House in Loren’s memory.
