Gene Carolyn Tinglof
Gene Carolyn Tinglof passed peacefully into the gates of heaven on the morning of August 17, 2018. She was the daughter of Oswald and Catherine Sharples. She was born on October 25, 1926 in Waltham, MA. She graduated from Waltham High School and Framingham State College. She was a member of the congregation of St. James United Methodist Church in Merrimack, NH. She was the devoted and loving wife of Dick Tinglof for 69 years. They lived in Corning, NY and Danville, VA before moving to Merrimack, NH in 1970.
Gene’s life was built on love of family, church and community. She joyfully served others as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, educator, church and civic leader. The sparkle of her smile and the care and concern of her words and works brought comfort and support to everyone she touched. Gene enjoyed working in her flower gardens, tole painting, reading mysteries, having lunch with friends at Pickity Place, traveling, spending time with her family and her beloved Dick.
She was predeceased by her sister Virginia Stocks; and, is survived by her loving husband Dick, her sister Eleanor Fontana, her children Patti Cassalia, Sue and Ken Stocks, and Jody Plante and Hal Dalomba, her grandchildren Melissa and Cory Boff, Stephanie Plante, Bryan Cassalia, Joseph Stocks, Tim Stocks, Matt and Kat Stocks, and her great grandchildren Autumn Boff and Marcus Stocks, her dedicated and loving caregiver, Trudi Maitland, and many loving family and friends.
Calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack on Thursday August 23rd from 4 – 7 PM. A funeral service will be celebrated at St. James Methodist Church, 646 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack on Friday August 24th at 11 AM.
