James B. Hodges

James B. Hodges, 79, of Amherst passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12th, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Charleston, SC on October 20, 1938 to the late Judson and Ruth (Benson) Hodges.

James was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served from 1956 to 1962. After retiring from an impressive career at Sanders/Lockheed, he enjoyed spending time with his family, a little fishing, a little Foxwoods, and the music of Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson.

James was pre-deceased by an infant son, James Hodges, Jr., and four siblings, Robert Hodges, Dottie Keune, Charles Hodges, and Richard Hodges.

James will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara (Welch) Hodges of Amherst; three daughters, Rhonda and her husband Gerard Tracey of Sunapee, Cheryl Hodges of Greenfield, and Vicki Hodges of Amherst; three grandchildren, Lauren and her husband Michael D’Ambra of RI, Nathaniel Tracey of Sunapee, and Brooke Hodges of Amherst; two brothers, Jerry and Harold Hodges, both of SC, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH, on Wednesday, July 18th from 5 – 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack on Thursday, July 19th at 10 AM.
