Vernon L. Cyr
Vernon L. Cyr, born on November 19,1929 to the late Aldei and Vina (DeCoigne) Cyr passed away on July 2, 2018. He left this life peacefully with his devoted twin daughters each holding a hand.
Vern proudly served in the United States Navy before returning home to marry his sweetheart, Barbara Cardonnell. He graduated from American International College in Springfield, MA with a degree in Accounting. He spent the majority of his working years employed by the former Sanders Associates. His greatest joy in life came from being able to provide for his family. They did not want for anything.
After his retirement, he donated many hours of his time volunteering at St Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua, NH and as a tax aid for the AARP Tax Assistance Program. He enjoyed square dancing, playing cribbage and complaining about the New England sports teams. Vern was a generous father and friend and his humor and goodwill will be missed by many.
He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Barbara and his 3 sisters, Rita, Dot and Eileen. He is survived by his 3 children, Kathy, Holly and Jeff, all of Nashua, his granddaughter Rebecca Cyr and former daughter-in-law Beth Cyr. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and distant cousins as well as at last count 16 grandcats. Vern will also be fondly remembered by his numerous spiritual brothers and sisters in the local congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
There will be no services. A private burial will be held in his home town of Adams, MA. Paciorek Funeral Home in Adams, MA is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Kitty Angels or an animal charity of your choice.
