Richard Holman, 28 of Merrimack, NH passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 while stationed in Norfolk, VA. After graduating from Merrimack High School in 2008, he joined the US Navy where he spent much of the last ten years as a Master-at-Arms stationed in Georgia, Japan and Cuba, finally training to join the NCIS as an investigator. While in the Navy he earned a bachelor’s degree in English from UMass Lowell.
Ricky was, at first encounter, a quiet guy but as soon as you got to know him you learned of his subtle humor, his caring nature, and his respect and regard for friends and family. Rick loved music just as much as he loved gaming-he played the trombone through middle and high school while accumulating an impressive collection of Pokémon cards. When not gaming or listening to his favorite music Rick could be found appreciating the sport of football, admiring fast cars, staying active, and writing. He was kind, deeply committed to those he loved, and will be greatly missed.
Ricky is pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents Calvin & Ruth Holman and also his maternal grandmother Jean Reader.
He is survived by his parents, Debbie and Steve Holman of Merrimack, NH; two brothers and their wives, Raymond and Melissa Holman of Baldwin, IL, and Russell and Kimberleigh Holman of Boston, MA; as well as his maternal grandfather, David Reader; uncles, aunts, cousins and nephew.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH on Monday June 11, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held in Grace Lutheran Church, 130 Spit Brook Rd, Nashua, NH Tuesday at 10 AM. Burial with full military honors, will follow in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s name can be made to Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society at nmcrs.org
