Willard (Billy) Dunklee

Willard D. Dunklee – 71, died suddenly working in his garden at his Nashua home on May 13, 2018.

He honorably served his country in the Navy from 1966 – 1970

Billy was born in Hudson, NH on June 10, 1946. He was the son of the late Herbert and Helen (Trumbull) Dunklee.

He attended Hudson schools and graduated from Alvirne High School in 1966. While there, he was also a member and past president of the Future Farmers of America. One of his great loves.

He is fondly remembered as being “A Good Man”. He was willing to help anyone with anything. He enjoyed Nascar, gardening, country music, was an avid reader and loved his cats Toby and Taffy. He had many pets over the years. He mostly enjoyed dog sitting his sister’s dog “Chloe”. He also had many friends who will miss him greatly including Mary, Denise, Gabby, Joe and Raffy. Carol and Joe, Pam, Robin, Evelyn, Mary and many more. His three greatest loves were his partner of over 35 years – Tami, you rarely saw one without the other. His sister Dinnie (Virginia Pennell) and his “little buddy” – his grandson Mason Bohnert.

Billy retired at 62 from Rexam where he worked in the warehouse. While he had many jobs over the years, his favorite was working at Kerrigan’s farm in Hudson growing vegetables and flowers for his loving friends Bill and Dot Kerrigan.

He was actively involved in the in the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years. Most recently he was with Cub Scout Pack 255 at St. Aloysius of Gonzaga. He received many awards for his dedication to scouting.

Bill also loved his volunteer work at St John Neumann food pantry where he took great pride in keeping things organized for Evelyn and the Nashua Senior Center helping to support bingo.

Billy is survived by his loving partner Tami Bohnert. Son Kevin Bohnert of Manchester. Grandson Mason Bohnert of Rochester. Brothers Edward and Eunice Dalton of Litchfield, Herbert Dunklee of South Carolina. Sisters Beverly Gagnon of Hudson, Virginia Pennell of Nashua, Sylvia and Richard Scott of Merrimack, Barbara and Russell Duncan of Missouri, Marjorie and John Shiel of Gilford, Cynthia Latulippe of Litchfield and Sally and Donald Joy of Maine and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by parents Herbert and Helen (Trumbull) Dunklee, siblings Gerald Dalton, Robert Dalton, Patricia Webber and Winnifred Pennell.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Billy’s name to the St. John Neumann food pantry.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at Edgewood Cemetery on Amherst St in Nashua on Friday May 18 at 11:30 am. Followed by a Celebration of Life at St. John Neumann Church. All are invited to attend.
