Gordon ‘Bugs’ J. Garland

Apr 17, 2018

Bugs Garland, 80, of Merrimack, N.H. passed away peacefully on April 12, after a long illness. Born in Pittsfield, N.H. on July 27, 1937, the son of Ken and Floss Garland. He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1955 and married his high school sweetheart in 1959. After graduation Bugs served in the U.S. Navy as an Air Traffic Controller and continued to work as a controller for 19 years at the Boston and Nashua Control Centers. Later in life he worked for Crisp Construction where he enjoyed “playing with trucks”.

Bugs was most happy riding his motorcycle, playing a round of golf, skiing down a black diamond, telling an off color joke, having a beer with friends, playing a good hand and being a Grandad! He was a member of the Nashua Elks and the American Legion.

Bugs will be lovingly remembered by his wife Nancy (Towle) and his two daughters Heather and her husband Allen Bills, Michelle and her husband Neal Hartmann and grandkids Ryan, Taylor and Troy Hartmann and Austin Bills.

A celebration of Bug’s life will be held at a later date.
