Faith (Sargent) Collins

Faith (Sargent) Collins, 87, of Nashua, died peacefully Tuesday, February 20 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Collins was born in Manchester, NH on March 14, 1930, a daughter of the late Merton and Marguerite (Riley) Sargent.

She was the widow of Francis “Bud” Collins Jr., who died on July 31, 2016. They shared over 60 years of marriage.

Mrs. Collins and her husband enjoyed days at their home in Wells Beach, ME for over 40 years and retired to their beloved beach house. She was an avid gardener and reader, and very talented at knitting and needlepoint. Faith shared numerous adventures with her husband and traveled the globe with him. Her favorite time and place was at home with their family.

Faith was educated in Newport NH, and following her graduation she earned her degree at Keene Teacher’s College. She was a longtime elementary school teacher in Nashua. She also was the bookkeeper for Collins Flowers in Nashua for many years. Faith could often be found at the flower shop helping her husband over the years.

She was the devoted mother of Peter S. Collins and his wife Tracy of Nashua and Sarah C. Eriksen and her husband Steven of Marshfield, MA. He is survived by three loving granddaughters Jennifer and Frank Cavaliere, Christina and Nick Bean, and Sarah Collins, and 4 step-grandchildren John and Kyle O’Loughlin and Kristoffer and Laren Eriksen; her great grandson, Parker Cavaliere and her brother and sister-in-law, David and Shirley Sargent.

SERVICES: There are no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 214 Main Street in Nashua, on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Alanna M. Van Antwerpen will officiate. Interment prayers and burial will be private.
