Madeline E. Fuller

Madeline E. “Maddy” Fuller, 89, of Litchfield and Derry, NH, wife of Wayland H. “Pete” Fuller, passed away Saturday morning, January 27, 2018 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, peacefully with her family members by her side.

Mrs. Fuller was born in Merrimack, NH on December 14, 1928, a daughter of the late Charles and Yvonne (LeCuyer) Carter. During her youth, Maddy resided in Merrimack and South Merrimack; and later made her home in Nashua and Litchfield for many years. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1946.

She began her career as an operator with the New England Telephone Company in Nashua and later worked in the Manchester office as a supervisor until her retirement after 36 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Once retired, Maddy and her husband enjoyed traveling twice across the USA in their motor home and enjoyed many summers at their cottage at Highland Lake for 39 years. Madeline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also was an avid gardener and enjoyed baking and sewing.

Members of her family include her husband, “Pete” Fuller, whom she married on October 2, 1948 and shared 69 wonderful years together; three daughters, Judith Fisher of Raymond, NH, Jennifer Fuller-Bennett and her husband Bob of Rollinsford, NH and Joyce Coalter and her husband Kevin of Derry, NH; five grandchildren, Matthew Fisher, Kallie Fay, Anna Patterson, Lynn Bennett and Jordan Coalter; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Wendell Carter and his wife Marion of Merrimack, Charles Carter Jr. and his wife Dede of Milford and Gary Carter and his wife Sandy of Bridgewater, NH; brother-in-law, Frank Hall of Merrimack; also many nieces and nephews. One of eight children, Maddy was predeceased by two brothers, Paul “Buddy” Carter and Carlton Carter; and two sisters, Lorraine Hall and Virginia Payne.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Wednesday evening, February 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the Episcopal Church of The Good Shepherd, 214 Main Street, Nashua, Thursday morning, February 8th at 11 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow at Martha’s Exchange. Family and friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Parkinson Plaza, Staten Island, NY 10305-1425.
