Henry A. Demanche

Henry A. Demanche, 97, of Hudson and former longtime resident of Merrimack, passed away on Wednesday January 24th, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Nashua, NH on November 6th, 1920 to the late Henry and Rose (Obin) Demanche.

Mr. Demanche was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and served proudly from 1942 – 1946 before his honorable discharge. He worked as a machinist for the International Paper Box Machine company in Nashua for many years before his retirement and also had previously worked at Sportwelt Shoe for many years.

He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, spending summers at their cottage at Lower Suncook Lake in Barnstead, NH, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, sitting on the deck in the summer.

Henry was pre-deceased by his wife of 65 years, Dorene (Baxter) Demanche in 2008, and seven siblings, Rose Chauvette, Andrew Demanche, Normand Demanche, Paul Demanche, Leo Demanche, Albert Demanche and Raymond Demanche.

Surviving members of his family include a daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and her husband Richard Frost of Hudson; three granddaughters, Kelly and her husband Raymond Gravelle, Amanda and her husband Dave Brandwein, and Melissa and her husband Timothy Tellinghuisen; six great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Brianna Gravelle, Alexys Gilcreast and Caige Frost, and Kathryn and Zachary Tellinghuisen; three brothers, Maurice “Willy”, Horace “Oscar” and Roger Demanche, along with many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 4 – 7:30 PM. A service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 7:30 PM. Burial will take place in Westview Cemetery in Hudson in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Henry’s memory can be made to either the American Heart Association, Diabetes Foundation or Home, Health & Hospice Care in Merrimack.
