Marjorie Winfield Ryder

Marjorie Winfield Ryder, age 91, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Genesis Westford House Healthcare Center in Westford, MA. She was born on July 12, 1926 in Sterling, MA, the daughter of the late Harvey F. and Lillian (Parsons) Pineo of Townsend and Gloucester.

Marjorie grew up in Sterling, from which she carried memories of the hurricane of 1938, before the family moved to Tyngsboro, MA. She graduated from Lowell High School and then attended Bradshaw Business School in Lowell. She worked for a law firm for two years, during which she answered an ad for airline jobs. After training in Kansas City, MO, she moved to Queens, NY and worked for the British Overseas Airline Corporation (BOAC). While working at the airport she met her husband Arnold. The couple moved to Lynchburg, VA where daughter Anne was born. They moved back to New England to Dunstable, MA where they had two sons, Douglas and Craig. Marjorie worked at the UMASS Lowell library until her retirement.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Arnold and her son Craig.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter Anne and her husband John, son, Douglas and his wife Carol, grandchildren, Garret, Travis and Stephanie and great-grandchildren, Cole, Mylee, Calli, Laelyn, Cody, Ellanor and Quinn. Marjorie also leaves behind her daughter-in-law Heather and grandchildren Laura and Allison.

SERVICES: Friends and family are warmly invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:30PM at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua. An online guest book is available at, (603-883-3401) “ONE MEMORY LIGHTS ANOTHER.”
