John R. Greenleaf
John Robert Greenleaf, 87, of Litchfield, NH and formerly of Merrimack, NH died January 21, 2018 at Hanover Hill Nursing Home in Manchester after a period of declining health.
Born December 6, 1930 in Nashua, NH, he was the son of the late Harry D. Sr. and Grace (Marshall) Greenleaf. He was predeceased by his former wife, Barbara (Robbins) Greenleaf; brothers George, Harry Jr., Milton and Clayton Greenleaf, and two grandsons Jon “Sonny” Greenleaf and Keenan McGowen.
John worked in the disc coating department at Nashua Corporation for many years. After his retirement, he drove a handicap van for Care Ride Wheelchair Transportation where he was adored by his clients.
John was a 32nd degree Mason and a former member of the Color Guard of the Bektash Shriners. He was also a member of the former Merrimack Valley Pioneers Good Sam Camping Club where he met many life-long friends.
John was a people person and his family was his greatest joy. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife Kathleen (Boyle) Greenleaf, he is survived by his children Susan Acosta of Casselberry, FL, Jon Greenleaf and Lisa Grigg of Merrimack, NH, Melody and Joe Higgins of Nashua, NH, Tracey and Bruce Parker of Merrimack, NH, Jeffrey and Michelle Greenleaf of Bridgton, ME, his extended family Lee and Lisa Greenleaf of Columbia, TN, Michael and Sandra Greenleaf of Londonderry, NH, Jade and Ryan Surrette of Auburn, NH, seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Saturday, January 27th from 11:00am – 12:30pm with services immediately following. A private burial for immediate family will be held at The Last Rest Cemetery at a later date.
