Nancy Linda Mae Kimball

Nancy Linda Mae Kimball passed quietly on July 27, 2016, at the age of 69, at her home. Nancy was born July 11, 1947, in Nashua, NH, the daughter of Leslie and Nancy Kimball.

On August 3, 1950, at the age of 3, Nancy fell out of a 3-story apartment building onto the pavement on Canal Street. Nancy was not expected to survive and was in a coma for many months. Her survival was a miracle. As a result of the accident, she received a serious brain injury that would physically and mentally disable her for life. However, she was never disabled in her love of life she shared with others. Anyone who was fortunate to come into contact with her, and there were thousands, quickly learned the true meaning of the human spirit and love. She was a gift from God to all those who appreciated the special angel she became after the accident. Nancy loved God and God shed his light on her every day.

When Nancy was 8, her mother requested that the state of NH take responsibility for her as she was not able to provide the special care that Nancy required. Nancy was sent to many foster and group homes where she was not always treated well. Fortunately, in April 2006, Nancy was accepted at Crotched Mountain rehabilitation center in Greenfield, NH, where she received outstanding care for the remainder of her life. Our special thanks to the staff of Crotched Mountain and her state-appointed guardian, Todd Strugnell, for improving the quality of life Nancy so well deserved.

Nancy is survived by 9 of her 11 siblings, Trudy Nadreau, Martha Lang, Leslie Kimball, Fredrick Kimball, Patrick Kimball, Shirley Gens, Robert Kimball, Daniel Kimball, and Larry Kimball. Her spirit will be carried on by her sister Martha Lang and brother Robert Kimball, who had a very special lifelong caring and loving relationship with her.

Graveside services, interment, will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashua, NH, on Monday August 1, 2016, at 10:00AM. The family has designated Crotched Mountain, One Verney, Greenfield, NH 03047, for memorial contributions in Nancy Kimball’s name.
