Jean Ellen (Lawrence) Howe

Jean Ellen (Lawrence) Howe, longtime resident of Hudson, died peacefully at Concord Hospital on May 28th, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Jeanie was born on May 15, 1944, to John and Ruth (Largy) Lawrence. She graduated from Alvirne High School in 1963 and married her husband of over fifty years, Robert Howe, shortly thereafter. She worked in the billing department at Memorial Hospital and Sanders before starting her family.

After her sons Jeffrey and Christopher were born, Jeanie worked at Library Street School, in the marketing department at Benson’s Wild Animal Farm/New England Playworld, and at her father’s printing company. She cherished time with her family, spending summers floating in the family pool, crocheting and other needlework, cooking, and traveling the country with Bob in their RV. She was especially thrilled to become a grandmother.

Jeanie will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her kindness, and the effort and love she put into living life every day.

Jeanie is survived by her husband, Robert Howe, of Boscawen; her sons, Jeffrey Howe and his wife Katie of Manchester, and Christopher Howe and his wife Michele of Pennsylvania; three granddaughters, Ariel, Gabrielle and Clara; a brother, Gerry Lawrence; a sister, Karen Wisnosky; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her most recent beloved dachsund, Barney.

The family would like to thank the ICU at Concord Hospital for their caring and sensitivity.

A celebration of Jeanie’s life will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 11:00 at the VFW (where Jeanie was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary) at 15 Bockes Road in Hudson, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanie’s name can be made to the NH Arthritis Foundation, 6 Chenell Drive Suite 260, Concord NH 03301.
