Richard Augustine Lavoie

Richard Augustine Lavoie, 76, of Nashua, NH, died Sunday June 5, 2016, at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Born April 3, 1940, in Nashua, NH, he was son of the late Augustine and Doris (Clough) Lavoie. He was also predeceased by one sister, Marie Foster, and one brother, Phillip Lavoie.

Richard served in the United States Navy from 1965-69 and was a member of the American Legion.

He retired in 2004 from Delta Education in Hudson. He had also previously been employed at the former Indian Head Millwork, Liberty Cabinets and Fimbel Door Co.

Richard enjoyed fishing and also enjoyed playing poker, going to Foxwoods Casino and playing numerous different card games with family.

Survivors include his loving wife Anita (Smith) Lavoie, of Nashua, with whom he married on July 3, 1980, and would have celebrated their thirty-sixth wedding anniversary next month; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Lavoie and his wife Kimberley, of Knoxville, TN; one sister-in-law, Debra Lavoie, of Hudson; one brother-in-law, Charles Foster, of Merrimack; ten grandchildren; two stepchildren, Sharon Moores and Steven Levesque, both of Nashua.

There are no visiting hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303.
