Claude R. Jean

Claude R. Jean, 85, of Nashua, NH, formerly of Littleton, MA, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the home of his daughter after a long illness.
He was married to the late Mary English Jean, who died December 3, 2007.
Born in Nashua, NH on Sept. 26, 1930, he was a twin son of the late Thomas and Elise Jean. He was raised in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School with the Class of 1948. He was a star football player and played in a bowl game.
During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1952.
After the Navy, he earned his bachelor’s in education at UNH, graduating in 1956. He taught in Bethpage, NY, while also going to Hofstra University to earn his master’s degree in school administration. He first became a principal in Pittsfield, NH, Easthampton, MA, and finally in Littleton, MA, before retiring.
He enjoyed time in Florida, managing money and being with his grandchildren and ten great-
grandchildren.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Nashua, NH.
He is survived by his daughter, Margaret “Peg” Badger and her husband, Donald of Nashua, NH; daughter in-law, Patricia (Kilpatrick) Jean of Nashua; two brothers, Gerard “Jerry” Jean of Hudson, NH and Rev. Sylvio Jean CSC of Montreal, Canada; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Jean of Hollis, NH and Peg English of Springfield, MA; three grandchildren, Colleen Rice and her husband, Dan, Kelly Burton and her husband, Rick, and Erin Jean, all of Nashua; granddaughter-in-law, Aimee Badger of Merrimack, NH; ten great-
grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Michael Jean; grandson, Donald Badger Jr.; three brothers, Robert Jean, Lionel Jean, Rev. Romeo Jean CSC; two sisters, Rita Jean, and his twin Claudette Jean.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph the Worker Church 777 West Hollis St., Nashua, NH. Cremation at Merrimack Crematory.
