William ‘Bill’ Predham
William “Bill” Predham of Hudson, NH, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, at the age of 79 on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1936. He grew up on a farm in Pawling, NY with his parents, Mary and Patrick Predham, and his four brothers and sisters. He left home at the age of 17 to join the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Calvert as a radarman during the Korean War and traveled throughout the Pacific. He graduated from SUNY Delhi and SUNY Farmingdale, where he met his wife, Judy. They were married in 1964.
Bill never met a stranger. He was easy to talk to and always had a joke or kind word to share. He took pride in his work and never left a job half-done. He brought his dedication to his work as Regional Sales Manager for Vulcraft Steel in Salem, NH, and prior to that for Republic Steel in Philadelphia. He was a gentleman and a gentle man. He loved to play golf, work with his tools, volunteer at his local parish, and spend time with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Predham; his daughter Lorraine Predham Keir of Alexandria, VA; his daughter Carol Lyon of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, and three grandchildren: Timothy Lyon, Mathew Lyon and Caroline Keir. He is also survived by his sons-in-law David Keir and Richard Lyon, his sister Dolores Dance, his brother Richard Predham, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Peabody Funeral Home at 290 Mammoth Road in Londonderry, NH, on Thursday, June 2, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 3, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 1 South Rd., Londonderry, NH, followed by burial at 2:30 pm at the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
