Mary Ellen (Biggins) Taft
Mary Ellen (Biggins) Taft, 63, of Sioux Falls, SD, was called home on March, 23, 2016 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI, in the loving care of her transplant team and surrounded by family.
Mary was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of Thomas J. Biggins, Jr., and the Late Eleanor (Wasgatt) Biggins, and is survived by her best friend and husband of 42 years, Donald A. Taft. She was the beloved mother of Benjamin N. Taft and his wife Natalia of Racine, WI; William B. Taft and his wife Jessica of Madison, WI; Nathaniel N. Taft and his wife Elise of Mount Horeb, WI; and Eleanor Mary Dickinson and her husband Jacob of Sioux Falls, SD.
She was the loving Nana to seven grandchildren: Norah McKenzie, Lydia Morgan, Gabrielle Zella, Evelyn Mary, Zebulon Donald, Micah Benjamin and Louisa Simone. Eldest of six children, she is survived by Thomas J. Biggins III of Sudbury, MA; Robert J. Biggins of Hanson, MA; Daniel J. Biggins of Worcester, MA; Ann M. (Biggins) Hulette of Falls Church, VA; and Joseph M. Biggins of Acton, MA. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
The Taft family welcomes friends and relatives to celebrate her life on Friday, June 3, 2015 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street in Holden, from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 4, 2016 at 1:00 PM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 122 Main Street in Worcester.
