Janice Whelpley Dugan
Janice Whelpley Dugan, 88, of Bridgewater, NH passed away at home on November 25, 2014.
Janice was born on May 4th, 1926 to Dorothy Stetson Whelpley and John Lawrence Whelpley. She was raised in Milton, MA with her five siblings: Eva Marjorie Whelpley Wickwire, John Whelpley Jr., her twin sister, June Whelpley Buchanan, Sharon Whelpley Flaherty, and her youngest and only surviving sibling, Barry Whelpley.
Janice’s first marriage brought her three children: Peter Hutchinson (wife Andrea Hutchinson), the late Beth Hutchinson, and Penney Hutchinson Rich (husband Ralph Rich). Raising her children as a single parent, Janice met her second husband, the late Richard Dugan of Waltham, MA.
Janice and Richard relocated from Nashua, NH to Hebron, NH, where they built their dream home. Janice resided there for 33 years before moving to Bridgewater, NH, where she spent the last 11 years.
Janice enjoyed her life in the Newfound Area as a restaurant owner of two local businesses, The Octagon Pizza House and Stetson’s Restaurant. After retiring, she enjoyed crafting and sewing, time with her friends, and activities at the local Senior Center.
Janice’s life was filled with family and friends and she wore many hats for them: daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother to Amy Rich Fairbank, the late Craig Hutchinson, Amanda Hutchinson Stashluk, John Rich, Sara Hutchinson Boule, Katie Hutchinson, and Sean Hutchinson; great-
grandmother to Dahlton, Jarrod, and Bailey Fairbank, Ryan Salvo Rich, Kaitlyn and Makayla Marini, and Craig Stashluk; and last but not least, a friend to many.
There will be no calling hours or service as Janice requested that her family and friends honor her with a celebration of life at a later time.
