CONCORD (AP) – New Hampshire Democratic activist Katrina Swett is running for Congress.
She filed papers Thursday with the Federal Election Commission to become a candidate for the 2nd District Congressional seat being vacated by Democrat Paul Hodes, who is running for the U.S. Senate.
Swett last ran for the post in 2002; she lost to incumbent Republican Charles Bass. In 2007, she withdrew from the U.S. Senate race and threw her support to former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen, who won.
Swett is the daughter of the late Tom Lantos, a longtime congressman and Holocaust survivor. She is the wife of former 2nd District Rep. Dick Swett.
John DeJoie of Concord, a firefighter and state representative, and Hopkinton lawyer Ann McLane Kuster also are seeking the Democratic nomination.
