MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Heavy rain made up for what had been a dry November in northern New England.

The New Hampshire Union leader says Saturday’s rain was so heavy that some football games in the state were postponed, but there were no reports of serious damage or airport delays.

The National Weather Service said Concord had only 3/100ths of an inch of rain for November through midnight Friday. Manchester had already recorded more than an inch of rain by midday yesterday.

In Maine, flood warnings were issued for several counties in southwest and central portions of the state. In York and Cumberland counties, 3 to nearly 6 inches of rain was recorded in some areas. The Presumpscot River at Westbrook was at flood stage.
