Main Street blackout

By Staff | Aug 18, 2019

NASHUA — An entire block of Main Street was left dark after a Saturday evening thunderstorm in Nashua, forcing bars and other businesses to close early — and sending their patrons into the dark street amid confusion.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday, a large flash of light could be seen behind the buildings on the west side of Main Street in the block between Water and Factory streets in the heart of downtown. From that point, until after 2 a.m. Sunday, the west side of the block was totally dark.

According to the Eversource Energy outage website, 77 customers remained without power as of 2 a.m. Sunday. There was no available estimated restoration time at that point.
