Humane Society gets $30,000 donation from Subaru Share

By Staff | Apr 17, 2019

NASHUA – The pets at Humane Society for Greater Nashua are fortunate to be the local beneficiary of the Subaru Share the Love campaign, as Milford Subaru and Subaru of America donated $30,000.

The society is the only humane organization in Greater Nashua. Members have been serving the people and pets of the area since 1900.

In 2018, staff members and volunteer adoption counselors adopted 1,120 pets with new families. The agency took in 391 owner surrendered pets in 2018. The organization provided veterinary care via low cost clinics to 698 owned pets in our community.

The society has a contract with the city of Nashua to provide pound services for stray and lost pets within the city. Otherwise, it receives no program or project funding, nor are any of its programs or services funded through state or federal grant money. It does receive some funding via the United Way of Greater Nashua.

The support from Subaru helps hundreds of local pets awaiting adoption in southern New Hampshire. Some pets need specialized medical care, while others simply need routine vaccines and spay/neuter surgery. Every pet deserves a loving home and family.
