Man allegedly beaten while stopped at light

NASHUA – At 4:18 p.m. Saturday, officers arrested Terence Halter, 33, of 15 Wilder St., for a felony charge of second-degree assault.

Earlier Saturday afternoon, officers investigated an assault that occurred on Main Street. The man reported that while sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle at a red light on Main Street, a man beat him with a metal pipe. The victim was taken to St. Joseph Hospital for minor injuries.

The suspect, who was identified as Halter, was known to the victim. Nashua detectives then investigated and charged Halter with a felony count of second-degree assault.

This felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Halter was released on bail and is scheduled to appear at arraignment at the Hillsborough Superior Court-South on Dec. 13.
