‘Bids for Kids’ Holiday Auction
NASHUA – The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua is gearing up for the 32nd annual “Bids for Kids” Holiday Auction.
The event is set for 5:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sky Meadow Country Club. There will be both silent and live auctions, as well as the opportunity to participate in raffles. One such contest is Sparkle & Shine, in which one person will win a piece of jewelry valued at $5,000, courtesy of Barmakian Jewelers.
Throughout the night, guests will enjoy wine, a gourmet dinner, and the chance to bid on a collection of highly valued auction items, including a trip to Bermuda, a culinary trip to Tuscany, an assortment of gift baskets for holiday giving, Red Sox and Patriots tickets, concert tickets and other prizes.
This year, club members will introduce several new twists to their annual live and silent auctions, including mobile bidding. Even those who don’t plan on attending the auction can bid online through the link: https://bidsforkidsonline.ggo.bid/bidding/package-browse. Pictures and descriptions of the items will be on full display, while the bidder will receive an update whenever someone else bids on the same item.
Anyone with internet access is also welcome to participate in the new Golden Ticket raffle. Only 100 tickets will be sold for $100 each. The golden ticket winner will take home their choice of one of six live auction items. He or she need not be present to win.
Organizers expect the auction to draw nearly 300 people, including local business owners who have demonstrated their support of the club by becoming event sponsors.
This year, the club will be honoring the Lovering Family of Lovering Volvo for their 20 years of sponsorship of this signature fundraising event. Since 1998, Lovering Volvo has sponsored the Bids for Kids auction and has been a Partners 4 Kids Premier Partner level sponsor since 2006.
“We are very excited to be the main sponsor of this amazing event that helps give so many of the kids in our community a safe place to learn and grow, and an outlet to pursue whatever interests they might have,” Linda and Richard Lovering stated.
Also sponsoring the event at the Diamond and Gold levels are A Friend of the Club, Northpoint Construction and Main Street Private Wealth Management. Proceeds for the event will go to support Boys & Girls Club programs, particularly the food and nutrition program through which they provide thousands of Nashua children free, nutritious, and fresh meals daily.
“Our members depend on the generous donations such as those made by sponsors such as Lovering Volvo and attendees of the Bids for Kids Auction to make these programs possible,” club CEO Norman Bouthilette said. “We are grateful to our supporters for their generosity and believe in our mission.”
