Kelly Mann Memorial set for Sept. 22

NASHUA – The 13th annual Kelly Mann Memorial 5k and 3k Fun Run/Walk returns to Nashua as part of the Toyota of Nashua Gate City Series.

The event is set for 8:30 a.m. Sept. 22 at Nashua High School South. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.

All proceeds will go to Bridges – Domestic & Sexual Violence Support. The agency, with offices in both Nashua and Milford, strives to eliminate domestic and sexual violence, while providing a safe and empowering environment for both victims and survivors.

Millennium Running will time the race. The event also features prizes, while T-shirts will go to the first 200 registrants.

Kelly Mann was murdered by her husband in her Nashua home in July 2004. While her husband was committing this act of violence, her three children were listening in a nearby room. The trauma those three young daughters experienced that day has changed their lives forever.

Kelly’s daughters, Ashley and Lauren Mann, went to Bridges with the idea of organizing a fundraiser in memory of their mother.

The event will raise funds for Bridges to provide awareness to the community, allow the community to show support toward ending domestic violence, and help Kelly’s daughters heal, all while celebrating their mother’s memory with others.
