NASHUA – Children and their families filled Lyons Field Friday evening to celebrate the end of a week-long soccer came, sponsored through a partnership with The Well Church and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The soccer camp, which took place in the fields behind Dr. Norman W. Crisp Elementary School, concluded Friday. It was geared toward kids in first through eighth grade. Aside from learning soccer skills, the 35 kids who participated also learned a bit about Jesus at camp.

“We had it all week long, and we decided that we wanted to have basically an end of the soccer camp kick off for summer kind of thing, and just celebrate soccer camp, support the community and do some fun stuff,” church Missions and Outreach Coordinator Jack Lytle said.

He said they also had 15 people from Franklin Heights Church in Rocky Mount, Virginia come up to provide assistance with the camp. Friday’s free family block party, which ran from 4-7 p.m., featured a bounce house, music and dancing, different games, face painting, balloon animals, popcorn and more.

The Well Church meets at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Girls Inc. located at 27 Burke St.
