Pair arrested for criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct
Officers responded to a call that Christian Prater, 22, of Merrimack and Brittney Elwell, 22, of Lowell, had entered a home without permission, allegedly having gained access through a window, and were refusing to leave.
The homeowner, a family member, reported that Prater had pushed them, according to police. Other family members alleged he had pushed them and had picked another family member up and “physically moved them to another room,” police said.
Police could not initially find Prater, with residents suggesting he may have fled. However, after searching the house, they said they found him hiding under a bed.
Both Prater and Elwell were escorted through the front yard, yelling obscenities, police said. Prater attempted to pull away from officers and initially refused to sit in the patrol car for transport.
He was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and two counts of domestic violence. He also had an electronic bench warrant from Nashua. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only and he was scheduled for arraignment Monday.
Elwell was charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bail. She was scheduled for arraignment Thursday.
